About Us

David and Christa were both raised on family farms in the communities of Rock Springs and High Point, just outside Albertville, Alabama. Today, High Rock Farm sits between these two communities.

The name “High Rock” reflects both places and carries deeper meaning, inspired by a favorite scripture: “From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” — Psalm 61:2.

Our foundation is built on faith, family, and hard work.
David’s passion for cattle began early. He started showing cattle at just 10 years old and purchased land by the age of 19. After marrying in 1992, David and Christa began with a small commercial cattle operation, steadily growing it into a 400-head cow/calf herd. High Rock Farm, LLC was officially established in 2010.

Today, the farm is truly a family effort. We are grateful to work alongside our daughters, Kayla and Kelsey, and our son-in-law, Lane, each playing an active role in the day-to-day operations.

At High Rock Farm, we believe quality beef begins at birth. We place a strong emphasis on herd health, nutrition, and hands-on care. Each calving season is closely monitored, allowing us to witness the majority of births firsthand. From day one, calves receive nutrient-rich milk to support early development, and at around 60 days of age, they are introduced to creep feed to encourage steady, healthy growth.

Our Feeding Program

Our feeding program is built on natural grazing practices. Our cattle have continuous access to pasture, forages, and essential minerals, with ample space to roam in a free-choice environment that supports their overall health and well-being. Currently, we manage over 600 acres of land and maintain a herd of approximately 300 head. Our operation is supported by a dedicated full-time herd manager, along with several part-time team members.

In 2018, we began offering our farm-raised beef directly to customers and quickly recognized a strong demand for locally grown, trusted food sources. In 2021, we opened our retail market to better serve our community, and we have been incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support.

At its core, High Rock Farm is committed to raising quality cattle and producing exceptional beef while maintaining a close connection to the people we serve.

We welcome customers to learn about our practices and proudly host farm tours to help illustrate the importance of knowing where your food comes from. There is great satisfaction in showing customers how we raise our cattle and then providing a finished product they can see, trust, and enjoy.

Like many in agriculture, we remain mindful of the challenges facing the cattle and food industry. We strongly believe in promoting U.S. beef and encourage consumers to support American-raised products. We also advocate for clear country-of-origin labeling, giving families the confidence to make informed decisions about the food they purchase.
